Overview

Pink Caravan is a Pan UAE breast cancer initiative that falls under Friends of Cancer Patients’ umbrella “Kashf” for early detection of cancer and aims to raise awareness around breast cancer early detection and screening methods.

Launched in 2011 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients.

Mobile Clinic

Pink Caravan Medical Mobile Clinic is a medical facility that travels across the United Arab Emirates providing onsite awareness and screening for breast and cervical cancer increasing the chances of early detection and survival.

It’s an independent medical facility and licensed by Ministry of Health and Prevention with a license No. 7414 since 2018.

PINK CARAVAN MEDICAL MOBILE CLINIC SERVICES:

1. Clinical Breast Examination (CBE)
   CBE is an exam conducted by a health care professional and involves inspection and palpation of all breast tissue including lymph nodes basins.
2. Mammogram Screening
   Are carried out for healthy women, 40  years and older, who have no symptoms of breast cancer with a HOLOGIC Tomosynthesis 3Dimensions Mammography System
3. Ultrasound Screening
   Further imaging assessment to obtain a  definitive and timely diagnosis of all potential abnormalities detected during CBE or Mammogram screening
4. Pap Test
   Papanicolaou test, (also called Pap test) is the standard test for screening for cervical cancer. All sexually active women, symptom free, aged 25- 65 years (married,  divorced, widowed) are eligible for screening.

Pink Ride

Pink Caravan annually runs the Pink Caravan Ride, throughout the 7 emirates reaching remote areas. 

Each year over 150 experienced equine riders join forces, garnering support across different sectors, bringing together schools, universities, corporations, Pink Caravan ambassadors and royalty. 

Pink Caravan Ride to date has travelled over 2,100⁺ km across the seven emirates, with over 9754 riders, 1,250⁺volunteers and 1,300⁺ medical clinics offering early breast cancer detection examinations for 93,201 people.
